The Parkview Huntington Family YMCA has many programs available throughout the summer months for both community members and YMCA members. In the area of aquatics, swim lessons for children begin with parent/tot at age six months of age with various swim lesson options continuing for children up to age 13. If one-on-one attention is needed for swim, contact the Y and inquire about Adaptive Aquatics programming. The Y also has a summer swim team for kids in grades K-12. Lifeguarding classes begin on May 24 for anyone over age 15. Contact Sarah Kowalski, Aquatics Director at sarah.kowalski@huntingtony.org for questions.

Youth Enrichment Camps are weekly focused camps including preschool camps, cheer, basketball, football skills, volleyball, soccer and running. Ages for camps vary but many camps are for children ages six years old through 13 years old. For families with multiple children or for individual children in multiple camp experiences, there may be discounts available.

For families in need of full-day child care, Summer Day Camp meets daily from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Summer Day Camp is available for kids completing grades K-5 or grades 6 to 8 with breakfast and lunch provided through the summer meal program.

The YMCA School of Music offers a limited number of lessons during the summer months. Y and community members can receive music lessons in piano and violin during the summer. Fall sessions will be offered in voice, violin, piano and guitar. Music lessons are for people of all ages.

Gymnastics summer programming meets on Thursday nights beginning June 6. Children ages Pre-K through middle school are welcome to enroll.

Registration is also open for both summer and fall dance sessions. Summer sessions include ballet technique and leap and turns class. Fall sessions of Y School of Dance will offer classes in ballet, character, clogging, contemporary, hip hop, jazz and tap. New for fall will be an adaptive dance session. Fall preschool enrollment also remains open. Classes are available for children ages two through five years of age and classes that meet either two, three or four days each week.

YMCA members can participate in a variety of group exercise classes free with a Y membership. There group classes for all fitness levels and classes offered in the pool, cycle, with sessions focusing in cardio or strength. There are also small group strength classes and personal training options available for an additional fee with options for adults or teens.
