The Huntington Arts & Entrepreneurial Center (HAEC) will host Weapons of Mass Seduction with the opening reception held on Friday, November 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. The HAEC is located at 32 E. Franklin Street, across from the Courthouse.

“In a time where the freedom to express and define ourselves is as limitless as our imagination, what remains closer to me than ever is the absolute power of femininity that pulses like a vibrant heartbeat,” said photographer Kaleigh Middelkoop.

Today this strength is praised, embraced and cultivated, built on the backs of the many strong shoulders of feminine trailblazers that dared to wield their dynamic character to forge a path where we could shine brightly and unabashedly.

The concept of femininity can be perceived shallowly as soft submission, dainty frailness, and quiet obedience. But that is a guise. True femininity encompasses so much more than that. To be poised is to wield a knowing confidence, to move with elegance is to host a power that makes strength look like ease, and to be gentle is to possess self-control and temper empathy.

The feminine lure pulls with it a power to seduce and bewitch the senses, like a spell cast over the most stubborn of wills. There is something disarming about feminine poise which turns these tender traits into strengths worthy to leverage the crudest powers.

Weapons Of Mass Seduction explores the contrast between the entrancing symbols of femininity and the ammunition they transform into behind a self-possessed and knowing hand. Blending polished graces and explosive force, we create the unstoppable fortitude that is The Feminine.
