Public Service Credit Union, once again, set out to make holiday wishes come true for its members and the local community. They sent out a survey asking: what are your holiday wishes? And if you could choose a gift for someone in need, what would you give? For some of those who responded, Public Service Credit Union does an extraordinary thing … they call it Project Giveback.

Public Service Credit Union invited members young and old to attend their Project Giveback event, now in its fourth year. First responders from the Huntington County police and fire departments, local nurses and representatives from local charities including Birthday Bags and Harmony House were also invited. On December 9, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and some special elves were on hand to help grant holiday wishes and make some Christmas miracles come true!

“Every year we have hundreds of people in our community come in to get their gifts. It takes months of planning, decorating, gift wrapping and more. We couldn’t do it without the dedication of our entire staff. The event is indescribable! Getting to see everyone, especially the kids, get so excited … there’s no feeling that replaces that,” said Robbie Boswell, manager at PSCU.

As in years past, delightful treats and surprises were everywhere including cupcakes, hot cocoa and photos with Santa. Best of all were the stories told by the members themselves, families sharing joy, children’s laughter and genuine thanks for the gifts received.

A video was created to capture the excitement of PSCU’s Project Giveback: mypscu.com/project-giveback-2023/.

Public Service Credit Union created Project Giveback in 2020 to invigorate the spirit of giving during a difficult year, for its members, staff and the local communities they serve. And just like that … a tradition began. The staff at Public Service Credit Union believe that Project Giveback is more than a one-day event, it’s a celebration of who they are and the values they strive to uphold … remembering that giving their best happens every day of the year.

Public Service Credit Union is Fort Wayne’s oldest credit union. Founded in 1932, the full-service financial institution serves over 5,200 members through three branch locations in Allen and Huntington counties.
