OB/GYN serving needs of women in Huntington

Takunda Mugwisi, MD, has joined the Parkview Physicians Group (PPG) – OB/GYN team in Huntington and is now providing care for patients in Huntington and Wabash counties.

Dr. Mugwisi completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology through the Wayne State University program at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, after receiving his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in Miami, Florida. During his residency, he was nominated by the Henry Ford Medical Association for the Peter Cogan Teaching Award in recognition of his dedication and exceptional achievements as a physician, researcher and teacher. Among other awards, he also received the Gentle Hands Award for his support of midwifery.

Prior to medical school, Mugwisi earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Indiana University South Bend.

Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).
