Huntington County girls are invited to become contestants for the Little Miss and Junior Miss Heritage Days Pageant to be held Wednesday, June 15 at 7 p.m. at Crestview Middle School. The pageant is open to girls age five to 12, and is part of Huntington’s Heritage Days celebration.

Two divisions will be judged including Little Miss Heritage Days for girls, ages five to eight, and Junior Miss Heritage Days, ages nine to 12. The objective is for girls to learn about stage presence and gain self-confidence. Contestants will be judged on poise, personality and overall confidence. There will be a brief interview during the pageant, and attire will include Sunday best or formal attire. The official pageant T-shirt and matching shorts or skirts will also be a part of the attire.

A mandatory orientation will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 at Lincoln Elementary School. Pre-registration and information can be found here. Frederick’s Photography will take photos on the evening of Thursday, May 5. No purchase is necessary. A Junior Miss Dance Clinic will be held on Monday, June 13 at 6 p.m. at the Parkview Huntington YMCA. A dress rehearsal for the pageant will take place Tuesday, June 14 at 6 p.m. at Crestview Middle School.

There is a $30 entry fee which can be brought to the orientation or sent to: Little Miss Heritage Days, 10249 N 300 W, Huntington, IN 46750. Make checks payable to Little Miss Heritage Days. Girls may obtain sponsorships from businesses, family members or a combination of both. The deadline for payment is May 5, 2022.

The community is invited to attend the Wednesday evening pageant. Tickets are $5 and children under age three may attend for free. Tickets will be sold at the rehearsal on June 15 and at the door the night of the pageant (as tickets last). The directors of the pageant are Dawne Pearson and Janelle Buzzard.
