The Huntington Lions Club, in partnership with the Roanoke Lions Club, Huntington VFW Post 2689, Roanoke Legion Club Post 160, and Huntington American Legion Post 7 and 85 are hosting an Armed Forces Day program on Saturday, May 20. The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at Huntington North High School.

The purpose of the program is to honor all military individuals who are currently serving along with all veterans who have previously served. Also being honored are four students graduating from Huntington North High School this month who have enlisted in the military. They will also be recognized for their willingness to serve their country.

Presentation of the colors will be posted by the Huntington North High School JROTC. The program will include the playing and singing of patriotic music provided by the Huntington North High School Band and the Joyful Songsters.

The keynote speaker will be Colonel Dale Beebe from the U.S. Armed Forces Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

The program is free to the public with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
