Heritage Pointe Communities lifeatheritage.org/ is proud to announce its acquisition of Elizabeth Scott Senior Living Communities elizabethscott.org/ in Maumee, Ohio. The transaction is scheduled to be completed on May 1, 2025. Heritage Pointe Communities is owned by United Methodist Memorial Home (UMMH) of Warren, Indiana. They operate three senior living communities: Heritage Pointe of Warren, Heritage Pointe of Ft. Wayne, and Heritage Pointe of Huntington.
“We are honored and excited to have Elizabeth Scott join our portfolio of excellent senior living communities in the region,” said Chod Boxell, chief executive officer of Heritage Pointe Communities. “We were drawn to Elizabeth Scott because of its excellent reputation, and rich history. This acquisition allows Heritage Pointe to further its commitment to quality senior living while allowing the vision of Elizabeth Scott to live on.”
Heritage Pointe Communities and Elizabeth Scott have remarkably similar philosophies for operations. Heritage Pointe Communities’ vision is “to be the premier communities for aging adults, committed to excellence of care through grace, compassion and respect.” Elizabeth Scott, founder of the community’s philosophy, was “to care for residents like they are family.”
Heritage Pointe Communities and Elizabeth Scott Senior Living Community both opened in the early 1900s and were operated by family members for many years. The retirement communities, which offer independent living, also provide continuing levels of care, permitting residents to remain on their campus as their health needs change.
Similar services and amenities include beautiful campuses, private residences, shared activity spaces, dining, transportation, housekeeping, engaging programs and activities, security and more.
Both organizations boast prestigious Five-Star Ratings by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This honor is a testament to their shared commitment to excellence, strong leadership, and committed staff.
“We are two strong leaders in the senior living industry joining forces. We are excited about Elizabeth Scott’s reputation for quality service, their talented team, beautiful campus, and beloved residents,” said Boxell.
