Are you looking for ways to give back to the county and volunteer your time? Are you searching for a way to serve during accidents, events and more? If this sounds like something you might find interesting, you may give some consideration to becoming a volunteer with the Huntington County Disaster Team.

The Huntington County Disaster Team is looking for about twenty volunteers to help with traffic control, parking, closing streets for emergencies, blocking roads for downed wires, traffic accidents, fires and more. The Huntington County Disaster Team also assists with floods by helping with sandbagging, assisting individuals with their doctor appointments or maybe driving individuals back and forth to work.

All volunteers will be trained in first aid to include CPR and the use of a defibrillator and more.

The Huntington County Disaster Team meets on the second Monday of each month at the Hier’s Park Family Building at 7 p.m.

If you are interested in volunteering or learning more about the Huntington County Disaster Team, call Max Kaylor, director, at (260) 224-3535.
