Chamber, Optimists partner for Student Awards

The Huntington County Chamber of Commerce along with the local Optimist Club partnered to hold the annual Student Awards Day on Thursday, May 5. The event was held in the library at Huntington North High School.
The winners of the awards are selected each year by their teachers.
Eleven students from eleven different disciplines were honored during the ceremony along with two scholarship winners. This year the recipients recognized were Haleigh Luckadoo, Agriculture, sponsored by Commodity Blenders, LLC; Aidan Smith, Automotive, sponsored by Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems and Olivia Hartup, Certified Nurses Aide, sponsored by Huntington University.
Also honored were Jamie Simpson, Cosmetology, sponsored by the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce; Andrew Benson, Criminal Justice, sponsored by Bowers Brewer Garrett & Wiley LLP and Lily Asher, Educations Professions, sponsored by Smeckens Education Solutions, Inc.
Other students recognized were Felisha Hensley, Emergency Medical Technician, sponsored by Beacon Credit Union; Maisyn Robrock, Human & Social Services, sponsored by Miller’s Merry Manor; Kolton Foster, Worked Based Learning/I.C.E., sponsored by Intri-Cut Tool Co., LLC; Steven Clark, Precision Machining, sponsored by Shuttleworth, Inc. and Levi Kreigh, Welding, sponsored by Novae Corporation.
