The Indiana Family Care Center is excited to announce it has received a $3,500 grant from Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC (“Bendix”) to purchase two sets of washers and dryers to be used as part of the Hope 61 program.

“The Indiana Family Care Center sincerely appreciates Bendix’s generous grant,” said Michelle Crone, executive director of Indiana Family Care Center. “The support provides immediate impact for our local community, and we look forward to continuing our work with them as a corporate sponsor.”

Established in 2011, Hope 61 is a program delivering aid to community members faced with a challenge such as a house fire, domestic situation, trafficked individuals or homelessness. The program also supports individuals at the time of life celebrations such as graduating from a program. The Indiana Family Care Center will bless individuals with items, including clothing, from the Revive Center and Op Shop to help them get back on their feet and restart their lives. The washers and dryers will be used to launder the clothing provided to individuals dealing with these circumstances.

Bendix is the North American leader in the development and manufacture of active safety and braking technologies for commercial vehicles. Bendix’s company-wide Get Involved! Program enables employees to submit projects for consideration to earn up to $3,500 in local corporate grant support. With over 540 team members on it’s multi-building Huntington campus, the company is one of the largest employers in Huntington County.

The Indiana Family Care Center is a nonprofit organization that supports families through one-on-one mentoring, parenting classes, pregnancy testing and a Learn-to-Earn Program. It regularly partners with local agencies to provide wrap around services and more. It seeks to awaken dreams by a brighter future through these parenting classes and mentorship programs.
