The Annual Back-to-School Bash in Huntington will be hosted by the Indiana Family Care Center at Huntington North High School in partnership with Huntington County Community School Corporation (HCCSC), and almost 40 other non-profit organizations, local businesses and churches. This is a community effort on Saturday, July 29, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., to begin each school year with a positive, fun-filled day for the community, families and especially for the students.

While this event began by assisting students with everything needed to start the school year off right, it has grown to a community-wide event for all families to kick off the new school year. This event serves students entering kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Students will have the opportunity to receive school supplies, clothing, new tennis shoes, socks, headphones, winter hats and gloves, immunizations provided by Ronald McDonald House, lunch and haircuts on site (as time permits). All of this is provided free to each student. To help organizations and businesses better plan, Indiana Family Care Center asks that each student register online ahead of time. While students will not be turned away the day of the event, they cannot guarantee they will receive all the items being given. Indiana Family Care Center does require each student to be present to receive the items.

Indiana Family Care Center also has fun festival activities planned such as the National Guard obstacle course, bounce houses, hands-on experiences with Huntington City Police and Fire Departments, an HCCSC bus, Huntington County Sheriff’s Department and Parkview ambulance. For the parents, they will have a trailer called Hidden in Plain Sight. They will also have various community organizations and resources available for families to engage with and experience what the community has to offer.

Indiana Family Care Center is excited to announce their partnership with the Huntington County Community School Corporation as they have provided Huntington North High School as the location for the event rain or shine.

They are still accepting donations and sponsorships to ensure every student is served. Contact michelle@IndianaFamilyCareCenter.com or call at (260) 200-1155 to see how you can be a part of making a difference in the lives of families today!
