Anthony Wayne Area Council, BSA, covers 11 counties in Northeast Indiana, and serves others by helping to instill values in young people and in other ways prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime in achieving their full potential. The values BSA strives to instill are based on those found in the Scout Oath and Law.
On Wednesday, May 24, the 44th Annual AWAC Scout Golf Tournament will take place at Chestnut Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne. This Florida Scramble format will raise needed funds to support the youth in the 11 counties we serve.
The funds raised from this event will go towards helping the programs: Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts and Explorers for boys and girls in each county. These are run by adult volunteers who spend many hours a week developing youth to become leaders of tomorrow with character and confidence.
The day will start with registration and breakfast provided by Rise ’n Roll Bakery at 7 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Golfers may either sign up individually or as a team of four. Immediately following the golf tournament, around 1 p.m., there will be an awards presentation along with lunch, provided by Chick Filet.
Interested golfers can sign up now and see a breakdown of the upgraded sponsorship levels online at www.awac.org/golf-outing.
